The match-ups are announced on Monday. If they are tied for 2nd in the Valley, they will be getting a TV game. There were 14 TV games last year I believe. Someone has to be on TV. ISUb is 8th in home RPI right now and would draw nicely I think with a game against Kent State or Hofstra

I think ISUb is in the best position for a solid game. Elgin has a lot of sway over this thing and they need the non-conference boost the most. (UNI jumped several higher RPI teams a couple of years ago for a shot at Siena). MSU is in the next best situation being a highly ranked road team. Then I think it will be WSU and the winner of UNI/CU tonight. Not sure we get a fifth team on TV. ESPN showed last year an inclination to put a couple of lower conference leaders on TV, apparently for 'equity'.

If Elgin sticks his neck out for ISUb that would be a major mistake ISUb will lose several games before the braketbusters.

Not a correction I want to make, but 4 starters are SRs....Creekmore, Mallet, Leonard and Ricks.

"This would be a grinding matchup between two teams few would want to play in March."

Nice statement about MSU by Mr. Katz.

I didn't realize that all of those guys were seniors. That makes me feel better about next year.

Although Weems would be back, it seems like the type of roster change that might cause a coach to accept a job elsewhere if offered. Can you hope for success, but not too much success?

I will worry about next year next year :D but we do get Keith Pickens back who started 19 games last year so Weems, Pickens, Scheer and Patterson will have some pretty good experience. We obviously have some holes but those guys are a good start.

Throw in Wilson and Kirk and I think we have a decent first 6. We will take out lumps but next year will be a year where we are 100 times better in March than November.

Someone from the Creighton board stated the matchups have already been made and Creighton isn't likely to get a TV game, not surprised...

This ^^^ Well maybe not the losing several games part - but because MSU and WSU need a better game than ISUb and are better at-large candidates.

ISUb won't make the NCAA without winning in St. Louis.
