Lest I remind you MSU has already beaten UNI and ended their home winning streak at a time when UNI was also playing well.

Almost's have no place around here...Creighton didn't.

Bears match up well with UNI, and I think they win another. Since you can see the future, and know what the atmosphere at MSU will be like before the game has been played, what will the crowd be like Sunday?

Lest I remind you that UNI's loss against MSU was during a streak in which UNI had lost 3 out of 4, including a loss to SIU and a 25 point loss to InSU. I would not describe that stretch of games as a time when UNI was playing well.

I will predict that the experienced Bears will take care of business on their home floor, but it will come down to the last minute. Can't wait for this game though, its an opportunity for my Panthers to officially make themselves a serious contender for the conference title.

Of course, they also had just beaten New Mexico on a neutral floor and had won five in a row.

Yes I understand that, but whether the loss comes at the front of a bad spell or the tail of a bad spell is mostly irrelevant. There was still that stretch of games where UNI was bad and that game fell within it. At least thats how I'm looking at this.

Lest I remind you that the loss to MSU was the first of those games. I would say that three Weems made at the end of the game had a bigger impact than just that one game. Seemed like it shook UNI to the bone and effected them over the next few games.

UNI @ MSU 1/30

UNI needs this. I don't care for the theory of the Bears running the table to set up a big game against WSU at the end of the year. Frankly, I think WSU will lose one or 2 more games before then (at UNI, maybe at Ind. St). We need MSU to lose in order to stay in contention for the title. As much as I dislike UNI and O'Rear, go Panthers!

I think that's probably right. If MSU wins this game, you're getting pretty close to calling the engraver. Until they find a way to lose at home, I can't pick against the Bears. MSU by 5.

I'm going to root for UNI in this game, so Indiana State will only be a game out instead of 2. This may be the only time that I root for UNI this season.

Is that a joke? A one game lead with 7 to play would be almost time to "call the engraver"?

As I have stated before, I think this will be a very tough and hard fought game for both teams and will probably be in great part decided on how the refs decide they are going to call the game that night. If they let them play (especially inside) then I think that favors the Bears, but if they call it tight and whistle every little ticky tack touch foul throughout the game, UNI could then sneak out with W.

MSU needs to try and not dig themselves into a deep hole like they have been doing lately before making a furious comeback. If they do that on UNI, it won't be easy to rally. However, if they can keep it close late into the 2nd half, I'll like the Bears chances a lot. MSU has a ton of heart (much like UNI had last year) and has the talent right now to back it up.

Anyway, I'll be there cheering for MSU and I'm really looking forward to it. When everybody's stomach is in double knotts days before tip off, you know that's MVC Basketball!

Good luck Panthers and here's to a fun filled injury-free game
