Funny you mention that. I remember a time when Indiana State had just went to the finals of the NCAA tournament. The next year I remember when the season started Drake had a new Juco player. I remember telling friends who also had season tickets but weren't regulars till the conference season started, that this new guy Lewis Lloyd was a player. They were giving me guff saying wait till the conference season starts. He sure held his own. Maybe with some Juco players coming in we can have a little Deja Vu.
The Wichita State-Drake games then were probably some of my favorite all time games. Carr/Levingston/Jones/Smithson. I remember one where WSU won by one in a barn burner, one where WSU won but both teams had way over 100 points. Fun times.

Lewis Lloyd was an extra fine basketball player. One of the best to ever play in the valley.
