Greg Eboigbodin To Make Transfer Announcement Monday

SIU has Offered. If not him, we're after Sekou Dembele 6-8 230 from Gateway Basketball--Eboigdobin (6-9 from Illini) would have to set out a year but Denbele would be eligible for 2018-19

How many schollies does SIU have left? Also who else, if anyone, is in the running for Eboigbodin and Dembele?

I know nothing about Dembele but I think Eboigbodin could be a very solid get for the Salukis. He's someone I wanted Valpo to consider. I think Detroit might be in on him; and if they are, they may have an advantage because he went to high school in that area, but hopefully he likes Barry and the prospect of playing in the Valley better. Mike Davis is a strong recruiter, though.

One scholie MAY be available or coaches would not have offered both (although Dembele, who is the starting center on Mali National team is only one of the two that has appeared on SIU verbalcommits,com) Eboigbodin has mentioned on his twitter that he has been offered by SIU.

The reason one scholie is available? Apparently one SIU recruit will not make eligibilty, but will pay his way to attend SIU and get a 2019 scholie

Maybe he got some bigger offers and is visiting them--When we signed Bola Onaliyan 6 years ago it wasn't announced til August--a "financial agreement" it was called not an LOi

Hope we get Dembele--think former SIU center Bola Olanyan--not a tremendous leaper but is strong and has nose for the ball (6-8, 230)

With the eligibility concerns surrounding Beane and (especially) Hinson's report on Bol which sounded far less than encouraging to my ears, picking up some frontcourt depth sounds like a pretty good idea to shore up what should be a very strong Saluki team this year and to hopefully help secure the team's future going forward.

It's J. Beane, Dembele or scholie goes to 2019 recruit--one of which would be J. Beane, who is enrolled at SIU for 2018-19.

By the way Darius Beane is completely eligible this year and is now practicing with the team.
