SLU got a fair amount of of love as a possible AAC expansion candidate on a thread I read on the AAC board. Personally I think the conference would add VCU Dayton UMASS and others before the Billikens, but I was surprised to see the support they were generating from fans of a league with such big-time aspirations in spite of the fact that they've done so little for so long. I do think that is a conference that they would jump to without hesitation. A move to the MVC would take a bit more convincing. Maybe multiple bids and another deep run by an MVC team might do the trick?

Still not sure that I want St. Louis to have the home court advantage in the Missouri Valley Tournament every year. I think this would make it easier for Doug Elgin to choose to move the Tournament to a City with a more neutral court (Kansas City?)

KC would be a good place especially since it's not saturated with possible tournaments like Chicago and Indianapolis are. If we want to attract the Dakotas Minneapolis could be in play as well but I don't like the idea of holding the tournament outside the footprint and I don't think the Dakotas bring enough value to the conference to warrant such treatment. As for KC I think there was a plan in place to move the tournament there when Wichita State and Creighton were still members but Elgin stuck with St Louis which upset those fanbases. Personally I don't see anything wrong with St Louis as a site for the tournament and have no problem with keeping it right where it is.

The Billikins were pretty bad Crews last two years but Ford has them poised to win the A-10 this year and they have a very young and talented mix for the next few seasons. Despite the bad couple Crew's years, SLU has made the 3rd round of the NCAA Tourney 3 times since 2012. Who in the Valley could say that.

Forget the AAC, if they deliver on that promise I could see the Big East come calling. They have shared a conference with several BE members in the past, don't have the potential redundancy issues VCU\Richmond and Dayton would present which gives the conference a presence in a new and valuable market and fills in their footprint nicely between Butler\ DePaul\Marquette and Creighton. It really is a natural fit if the program can get up to BE standards.

That's... More than a little embarrassing... I suppose I should dial it back a little... I just wanted to keep this topic alive because it's good offseason discussion fodder and because there are programs out there that can make this league even stronger and I wanted to discuss and debate the merits and demerits of each one. I suppose I am trying too hard to create news and discussion where there's none to be had. I guess not every thought I have or analysis I do in my head isn't worthy of discussion. Sorry guys. It's almost time to shift our full attention to the upcoming season anyway. When there is more news on this topic I'm sure it will be discussed and debated at length by many including myself.

Don't dial it back. You keep the conversation going. Without you it would be stagnant until October

I agree. Keep posting. I enjoy reading more than posting and you keep conversation going. I wish others would be more active posters. ... maybe I should try and be the change I’d like to see. :)

no one is adding becauses there’s literally nothing to add. Any potential school has been looked at, and discussed, every way possible a dozen times for 2 years.

There’s literally nothing left to say outside of trying to make stories from literal nothing.
