I'm just gonna say that regardless of the severity of this actual infraction, any coach and administration with integrity would just say "enough". To me it's not an issue of how bad was this particular infraction, it's the fact that he's had repeated problems and does not seem to place his responsibility to the team and program above his individual desires and impulses. This is not a "court of law" issue as far as his status with the team and University. Just such a bad reflection on both to be trying to find legalistic reasons to keep him.

For Redbird fans:

Is Muller on the hot seat?

If Yarbrough stays & ISU doesn't make the NCAA, does Muller get more time?

If Yarbrough is removed from the team & ISU doesn't make the NCAA, does Muller get more time?

How many more years would you support Muller without going to the NCAA?

Muller is not on the hot seat. We all think he should have an NCAA appearance less than two years ago so he has plenty of time. Plus, he has the backing of everyone. Dan is beloved in Bloomington-Normal

What are the list of charges that Milik Yarbrough has against him, and what are the charges he has been proven guilty of?

Dan Muller will be at ISUr at least a couple years before his seat might getting hot. First and foremost he
is a beloved Redbird alum. He has never won less than 18 games and the last 4 years has Valley finishes of
3rd
1st
2nd
3rd

Should finish in the top 3 again this season. So his Redbird teams have been consistently strong regardless
of tremendous roster turnover.

The future also looks very bright with 3 strong transfers sitting out this year, two very
promising 6'10" FR Idowu and Ndaiye. and 4 scholarships to fill next year.

The more realistic question would be if Dan takes a better job would Dana Ford leave MSU for ISUr?

I also have questioned if Muller would be on the hot seat...

-Always been above .500 but that includes 4 out of 6 seasons ending with 18 wins
-3 Championship game appearances... but all ended loses
-2 NIT.... I do agree they should have gotten a shot in 2017; but in fairness the margin of defeat against Wichita was hard to ignore, especially with a weak Valley (a 41 point loss and 20 point loss). Still though, the NIT is more than most Valley teams have made in recent years.
-Lots of player turnover
-Consistent questions of player character, it seems as though every year there's SOMETHING and the response always seems "meh" at best. It sucks too because i'm sure most of them are good kids and get lumped into the "jailbirds" stereotype.

But in fairness to all of that, most fans closer to the team know more. It's why most Rambler fans defended Porter when a lot of others were down on him; so i get there's something I may be missing. From the outside it seems like same Redbirds every year. Rich with talent; but also rich with off the court distractions. So my question is: why isn't it nearing a hot seat yet? It could be faith that the "just misses" and NIT's will turn into hits this year, or the alumni connection, or that people like how he represents the university through social media; I'm just curious what it is for Redbird fans!

And beyond that; at what point would fans start to get antsy? Hypothetically if Yarbrough plays and the team finishes with 18 wins this season and 2nd/3rd in conference would that have an effect?

EDIT: Just saw Redhawks post which makes some fair points, I didn't think about conference finishes; but would love to hear from others!

Not trying to be an ass here; obviously given ISU is Dana's alma mater and he was an assistant coach at ISU would both be reasons he might return. But at the same time, MSU has better resources in place than ISU and Dana has noted that MSU has the best opportunity for success in the Valley from a resource standpoint. I would rate the two very close and have always felt MSU and ISU outside when WSU was still in the Valley, were the two public schools who needed to carry the baton. But overall MSU has a history of better attendance, we have a better facility, better support facilities, a larger enrollment; pretty much across the board MSU now that Lusk is gone, is set to be successful if the right coach is in place. It only took Martin 3 years to deliver a conference title and average 7500+ per game; Ford could possibly do the same. The only school that can match that attendance in the last 8 years is Bradley.

Usually does, doesn't it ? But if Dana is successful at MSU, I don't think more money would be enough to make a lateral move. I think he'll take more money and a step up to a P-5+1 opportunity.

When you fire a guy you better be sure the next guy is an upgrade. I don't see how ISU can feel that would be the case with any confidence. Muller isn't Jim Les---just plugging away at .500 or below in the league.
