ISUr almost got beat by a bottom 5 D1 team that lost it's first three games by an average of about 40 points per game.

Well the Missouri Valley officially sucks this year. If your favorite team doesn't win on March 10th there will be no NCAA tournament. We're already a 1 bid league two weeks in.

With all due respect to that premise, we might want to broaden our vision for the conference. Even if they get 3 teams in the tournament, the dozens of games between now and then are as important for developing the programs. I guess I never did buy into the notion that nothing mattered more than playing a single (or rarely, two) game in the NCAA regional 800 miles from home, since that's usually as good as it gets.
D1 basketball is designed by and for the P5/6 conferences anyhow. Playing well inside the MVC isn't going to rattle anybody's cage in the ACC.

Thank god the "Undisputed Favorites" didn't drop that one. As much as I dislike the Jailbirds that would've dropped the conference down some slots by itself.

SIU might be 0-2 but with 2 competitive losses to ranked teams and one was without Fletcher who is expected back before T-giving. They'll still have some shots at good wins including ranked Buffalo again. That's why you schedule up!

Chicago State is TERRIBLE.

This year Indiana beat them by 49, Notre Dame by 27, and Central Michigan by 41.

They went 3-29 last year with 2 of the wins over Silver Lake College and East-West University. If anyone can tell me what state those two schools are in, you probably won a geography bee as a kid.
