I honestly wonder (and fear) that adding Lipscomb and some scheduling tweaks would be enough to keep Murray State happy in the OVC.

It'd be nice to cut some of the deadwood, but I don't see that happening. And probably adding Lipscomb isn't happening either -- odd number of schools, you know. Still, ANYTHING from the league office would be an improvement.

Unless there are things going on in the background none of us know about, it should be clear that the MVC isn't calling Murray anytime soon. The league has made it pretty clear that they are happy as things are. Wish Murray had another realistic option, but they (and OVC and MVC leaders) know that they don't.

Let's not go overboard here. This is definitely an odd moment for the OVC. It's been 32 years since this has happened. I will say that I fully expect Belmont to win the PIG and beat Maryland. Our matchup will definitely be more difficult. Bottom line, I still want the MVC. But again, they don't want us, so...

Belmont was never coming here. I think Murray State might still if offered. The OVC is very top heavy.

Don't get me wrong, I love Belmont being in.

But the only reason they're in is because this time they picked up a couple Q1/Q2 wins. Which was a direct byproduct of their rival team becoming an all-time outlier in the computer rankings.

Make no mistake, Belmont is in because Lipscomb luckboxed. This at-large bid situation isn't repeatable.

I'd put an offer to at least Murray State, Belmont, NKU, UIC, Lipscomb, Wright State, and Oakland before Omaha.

We're they actually considered last time or were they just looked at to cover all their bases and maybe appease some people?
