Ramblers Land Oakland Transfer

The Ramblers landed their point guard of the future with Oakland transfer Braden Norris. Norris was a member of the All-Freshman team in the horizon league and likely would have been freshman of the year had it not been for Antoine Davis of Detroit breaking Steph Currys freshman 3 point record.

Norris started 30 games and averaged 8.4 points, 5.2 assists (against 1.9 TO), 2.8 boards, and 1.4 steals a game. He shot 47% from three (67 of 148). The one knock on him is height at 5'11 but he showed a lot of poise for a freshman, according to some Oakland's board he left Oakland because he didn't feel like all his teammates were serious enough about winning. Great culture guy for LU, his games pretty similar to Custers. Also visited Notre Dame, Butler, Richmond and a few others. Sit 1, play 3.

Really good get for the Ramblers. If he is the PG of the future what is Marquis Kennedy? A combo?

Yep! Definitely think Kennedy's a combo. He's got some point guard ability no doubt, but projects as a scoring, "do it all" guard as opposed to a pure point. I'm simplifying it, but Kennedy's role will probably end up more similar to Townes by careers end, he's shorter; but more athletic, and probably has longer wingspan.

I'm really ecstatic about the core 4 of the 2023 class (Norris, Wojcik, Welch, and Kennedy), assuming they (and Porter) all stick around.
