Drake dodged a bullet when Koch missed that 3 at the buzzer. I can't believe Phelps didn't have the Drake players foul with about 2 seconds left, before the shot was attempted. When you're up 3 with that little time left, I think that's the way to go.

Didn't Drake try that strategy at the end of regulation in the ISUR game?

Completely different situation. Illinois State got the ball, down 3, with about 20 seconds to go. And, Drake fouled the guy with 8 seconds to go as he was shooting the 3.

With only a few seconds to go, you take away the possibility of a tie by fouling. Obviously, the key is to foul before the shot, which would have been quite easy for Drake to do today.

Hopefully UNI will make some defensive adjustments and hold onto a top 3 finish.

I think it would be a very large mistake to count UNI out at this point. They have only been without O'Rear for one game. BJ is too good of a coach not to keep working to fill the hole under the basket. I don't think we have heard the last of UNI.
