I would also rather be in the MWC than the AAC, but I guess it doesn't mean Colorado State or someone else wouldn't make a move.

And we're praying the OVC takes you off of our hands.

You should be on your knees thanking Loyola. That Final 4 money is probably half of your athletic department budget.

Hear Hear! Go Ramblers!

I don't get the get rid of Loyola talk. The $$ from F4 shares is great. Plus Loyola has made a bunch of facility improvements lately and has been recruiting well.

What we should do is make a departure rule related to your current rank. The higher you are in MVC rankings, the more costly it is to leave.
Go Panthers!!

Disney steals T1 rights from CBS increasing the SEC’s T1 payout six-fold.
https://twitter.com/claytravis/status/1 ... 95104?s=21

Potential gamechanger as Disney’s endgame to monopolize the southern region where the sport is most saturated moves forward. Speculation is Disney wouldn’t shell out this money if there wasn’t a goal to acquire FOX’s CFB properties and shift them to Disney/SEC. The ACC is already under the Disney umbrella with a GOR not expiring until 2037 so Clemson/FSU won’t get targeted which leaves the BXII: Texas & Oklahoma.

Ironically, Disney’s LHN gift for Texas circa 2010 works against Disney in 2020. Texas’ $18M LHN escalator bridges much of the revenue gap between UT and the SEC.

Oklahoma doesn’t have such a cushion. If money dictates their decision, the revenue gap is too big (and growing) between the B1G/SEC and OU not to make a move to keep pace.

But that’s Oklahoma’s dilemma: money or power. Choosing money can evaporate power. Arkansas (60s) and Nebraska (90s) once ruled the sport. Today - after conference switches - neither’s qualified for a bowl in 4 years and both have recycled through several failed coaches.

Getting sucked into that hole with bigger names blocking mobility devalues a brand. An 11-1 SWC Arkansas is far more valuable than a 6-6 SEC Arkansas. An 11-1 Big 8 Nebraska is far more valuable than a 6-6 B10 Nebraska.

And a 12-1 BXII Oklahoma qualifying for the CFP every year is far more valuable than an 8-4 SEC Oklahoma.

Oklahoma trades co-running a league with regional rivals for money and history shows someone else will fill their shoes. TCU, Baylor, & Okie State have narrowly missed national titles. A rising Iowa State program just fended off blueblood FSU from coach-poaching, touts the league’s 3rd largest attendance, and regularly gets picked for bowls ahead of teams with better records due to their fan base’s ability to travel.

Things are getting hot between Boise and a realignment move... If the AAC makes a corresponding basketball move you know it's going to be an A10 team and that puts Loyola's future in the MVC in jeopardy.

Rather see Loyola stay than go but just replace them with Murray State if they go, you've probably upgraded if anything.

I have bad news about that then... I posted on Murray State's board about how the program still enjoys popular support among MVC Fans for inclusion in the conference and got a response saying that their new AD and boosters are now AGAINST a move to the MVC. And an MVC without Loyola is less appealing than an MVC with Loyola.
