Congrats to SIU. Both teams played terrible basketball. The comment about 10,000 fans lack merit. WSU had bad snowstorms for MSU, Northern Iowa and SIU. The actual attendence for each was closer to....
MSU - 9,500
Northern Iowa - 8,000
SIU - 5,500

Had there been 10,000 fans tonights, the shox probably pull it out. Again, congrats to SIU.

here come the excuses. last time i checked, the fans don't play the games and we are at the end of the season. teams should be used to crowds by now regardless.

Unbelievable.

Worse than Evansville last year. 7 in a row or 3 in StL.

A WSU fan's take on the loss. Our guys go into our home games just expecting that they will win. That is why we haven't lost on the road in the league, yet, but have 3 home losses. And I like what Greg has done with our program but quite frankly he is a bottom feeder in-game coach in our league. When our team doesn't show we can't expect coaching to still get us a W.

Enough said.
Thoughts and prayers to WSU finding a new conference.

You don't think more fans helps a team play better? How is that an excuse when I said the shox played terrible. Any basketball fan who doesn't believe that more loud fans = wins; is not paying attention.

It's an excuse because you said "had there been 10k there, we would have pulled it out", implying that because there wasn't 10k you didn't win

didn't help BU get a win over us at their place and I believe it was the largest attendance we have gone up against all year. So no, I don't think having a ton of fans helps all that much. Now maybe going from playing in front of a ton of fans every night to an empty audience might have an effect though. The absence of crowd noise can be just as deadly.

In any event, playing on your own home court and knowing your own rims is where the true advantage is.

If any argument can be made, I might give a little credit to the Jays because their start time got changed at BU. that can mess with a teams routine.

Have a whole mix of emotions right now. On one hand I am glad they lost and it now gives a shot at an outright conference title. At the same time, on the other hand, it ruins our chances for an at-large bid as well. It will be really hard to get an at-large with no top50 wins. Don't care what our record is.

Can we just call it quits after tomorrow and play in the Lou this weekend?

I don't care if we played in front of 10,000 in maroon. There is no excuse for this loss. We played a team that was playing the worst basketball in the league going into tonight without 3 of their players, valuable players. No excuses.
