Would need very few bid thieves for LUC, BU, and InSU to have any chance.

Somewhat dated but Valpo was the very last NIT at-large team included in 2017. This happened because Northern Kentucky won the HL tourney, while Oakland won the conference champ regular season tie breaker. Going in to the NIT VU was 23-8 with a 78 RPI but had good wins over Rhode Island, Alabama and BYU.

I doubt if LUC and BU could juice their NETs enough to get in because the semi-final brackets should position them opposite of UNI (so a win over UNI puts them in the NCAA). ISUb might with a 4 vs 5 win followed by a win over UNI followed by a loss to LUC-----BUT--- That is a real stretch!

Which gives LUC a good chance. Indiana State has a chance if they win a few games and Bradley has a chance if they make the finals. Just my quick guess.

This NIT Bracketology from Mid Major Madness has LUC as an NIT at large playing @Cincinnati

Nope. LUC needs to juice their NET to move up to NIT consideration and the only victory that gives them major help would be a win over UNI. Unfortunately if Loyola beats UNI it will rob them of their slim NIT chance and force them into that worthless NCAA thingy.

Same logic for Bradley only worse as they would have to lose tomorrow just to have a chance to play UNI before the championship game.

As for the mid major madness NIT bracketology I would bet mountains of money against that happening( less than 20% chance). There is always auto bid low conference champions occupying most 7 and all 8 seed spots.

The old RPI range for NIT consideration was in the 65-100 range, so we have a few teams that may have an outside shot, but doubtful.

LUC could probably play there way onto pretty solid footing by making the final and losing close to UNI. I'd rather gamble on the at large NIT berth than the at large NCAA berth, so if we're going to be a one bid league I hope it's UNI this year.

I know it's wishful thinking, but I'm still keeping an eye on the NET rankings.

Loyola currently at 98
Indiana State at 99
Bradley at 111

If only the Trees and the Ramblers were on different sides of the bracket... That would have been so much better for the entire MVC. Both our NIT at large hopes and UNI's at large NCAA hopes.
