Chicago St games canceled due to coronavirus. It’ll be interesting how the postseason tournaments respond. Probably too late to cancel, but spectator-less venues or N-95 mask giveaway contingencies have to be on the table.

While a concern, let's be real here. Chicago State has four wins and none of them are in conference. Now they get out of traveling to Seattle, Utah and possibly Las Vegas for the conference tournament where they had no chance to compete anyway.

Chicago State has no business remaining in D1.

This isn't about Coronavirus.

This is about saving cash by not busing thousands of miles and having to pay for food and hotels when you have no shot at winning anyway.

The best thing that could ever happen to college basketball is to cut DI in half.

You think the tournament is great now? Imagine if a team like Loyola or Indiana State was the 16 seed instead of Prairie View A & M or Robert Morris.

You're right. They don't.

And no one in the Valley has any business playing them unless they're desperate for a home game or something.

It was be far better to schedule non-D1 than play Chicago State.

This was the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw Goodman's tweet about it. If it was truly about the Coronavirus, other teams with actual things to lose would be doing it. This is just an easy excuse to save money. I imagine after the season that we will hear that they are dropping out of D1 or the school is closing up shop.

UMKC just cancelled their game in Seattle as well.

Eliminate the WAC. NMSU can come back to the Valley.
