You do get the sense that UNI is about to retake the momentum but man what a massive egg they have laid this first half. For their sake and for the sake of the MVC's multibid hopes I hope the hole isn't too great for them to dig out of. But man this is the worst time to have a terrible half. You have to think the selection committee is watching right now and this will not help their case even if they are able to advance.

No joke. Kinda sad for UNI. Even worse for the MVC that our league champ just got boatraced by a play in team.

We can talk all we want about league depth and how great and deep our league is and it's true it is. But that argument only works for the favored few in this sport. That argument works for the Big 10 not for us. Our top teams have to win or we need to win more early as a collective to make those losses not hurt as much. Otherwise our league depth argument falls on deaf ears.

I guess this is why the OVC gives their #1 & #2 a double bye, even though they have only 8 teams.

Well, so much for that hope.

UNI gets the NIT, and hopefully Loyola can pull of an upset in the NCAA (provided they get there). Name recognition in this case helps as the run they made a few years ago will get brought up a bunch of times on national television. Always good to have the league mentioned in relation to winning and NCAA success.
