Never count any game as a sure win.

In 1998, Drake was again 0-18 and came out on fire against a 9-9 Bradley team that tied for 5th in the league, but fell to the PIG with the tie breakers. It took just about everything they had to come back and beat that team.

Then Bradley made history the next day as the only PIG team EVER to win a 2nd game in the tourney as they upset #2 Creighton the next day.

One thing is certain, if ILSU and UE somehow by divine intervention make it to Sunday, Elgin will insure it is the end of all 10 teams going to St. Louis. A decision I really couldn't argue with. Neither one of us really have any business playing another game, let alone potentially popping bubbles.

Fortunately for us, we won't be in a position to pop any bubbles unless we end up facing UNI on Sunday. If UNI makes it that far, they are probably in regardless, and the odds of us making it to that game are pretty much non-existent.

I wouldn't say that is for certain at all.

Many fans make it an annual pilgrimage to St. Louis. If there is uncertainty whether your team is even playing, that will make a lot of people less likely to automatically commit every year. I think it would be a bad move to overreact to one freak occurrence. Plus, forcing the bottom 4 to play Thursday gives your top two an advantage they wouldn't have if #7 and #8 didn't have to earn it. So you're setting up for even more upsets in the future.

But, that is unlikely to happen anyway.

It doesn't seem like it right now. Then again, there's lawsuits flying everywhere right now and I suppose the hammer could fall once all that is resolved.

Update: Evansville's women lost to Bradley 71-53 at home this afternoon to cap off a winless 0-18 season.

First school in MVC history to have MBB and WBB go winless in the same year. Go Aces.

That really sucks. I'm so sorry. Hopefully better days are ahead for you soon! I think they will be! Don't lose hope.

There’s only one direction to go when you’re at rock bottom.

Sorry. I'm sure that's tough for Aces fans.

There are a couple. Upward of course is what we are hoping.

But we can also stay at rock bottom. We have already lost 2 recruits for next year. If we lose the other one and key players from this team and the transfer from Nebraska and quality players don't want to come to UE to play for a rock bottom program UE will be rock bottom for years to come.

Just to clarify this statement - re the two recruits UE lost. One of them was most certainly not going to be an impact player. He scored one point in one of his most recent high school games and can't shoot outside of 5 feet. So losing him was a good thing. The other one looked to be another one of those erratic Low BB IQ players (aka a McCarty special). To me, those two guys not coming is a good thing.

But overall, yes, it's rock bottom and the only way it's getting better is if we can bring in better recruits.
Go Aces!
