I said it before and I'll say it again... The Panthers (and the entire MVC) needs to schedule better going forward if they want to be a consistent multibid league. Elgin's call to cut out the non-D1s is just the first step. We need to either band together with other like minded mid majors and schedule better games for all or be more willing to take buy games against beatable teams that can give you a Q1\Q2 win or take advantage of the many big arenas within a few hours of campus and play neutral site games.(Follow the St Mary's example They went from perennial bubble team to solidly in this year by using this strategy beautifully.)

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the MVC is not getting 2 bids this year.

When things subside and stabilize this year Elgin or Jacobson needs to ask if UNI would have gotten in had the tournament been played. If the answer is "No" the MVC needs to call a meeting to figure out how to schedule better so that no more MVC teams get left at the altar. A challenge with the WCC (if they can get Gonzaga and to a lesser extent St Mary's on board would be a terrific start.

Isn't that an impossible question since there aren't any conference tournament results?

As a whole, the league schedules just fine. The key is winning the games you're supposed to win. We can't be dropping multiple games to MEAC and OVC schools. The NET has made it clear that winning percentage and beating teams you can run up your efficiency numbers against is the key to good ratings.

Just in case you thought that the NCAA gave a crap about anyone besides the big $$$ conferences, the plan they almost adopted would have been to select the “top 16 teams” regardless of conference and play a weekend tournament.

CBS has said they are still thinking about releasing a bracket. Why? I have no Earthly clue other than to give the coaches the chance at their bonuses

Or to send a message to the bubble mids that didn't make it about what is required in the new NET world... I just hope if UNI is left out the message is received by the entire MVC...
