Hall is a bit of a surprise as his playing time increased late, but oh well. Freeman never was scholastically eligible and so the juco route was all that he could do. He also was rehabbing from an ACL injury that cost him most of his sr year in HS. He's a local kid and an uber athletic type, but not sure if we'll still be in the mix 2 years from now. Right now we have 6 open scholys, so it'll be like a bus station this spring/summer.

Gabriel was dismissed from the team in December and is enrolling at Hutchinson JUCO.

Hall is the only one on that list who got a lot of playing time (I think).

I know that Jones from Drake was a walk-on. Really good kid. Just wants a chance to get some playing time somewhere. I'm guessing he'll end up at a good D2 program.

Maybe I'm ignorant of what he brings to the table but Gooch doesn't strike me as a huge loss for SIU. Still they are in their building phase and can use all the talent and leadership they can get, His presence will be missed in that regard in the locker room especially but I don't know if the Salukis will see much of a negative on court impact from his departure. If I'm wrong SIU fans please correct me.

I truly think this is best for both player and SIU. He needs somewhere he can get more playing time, hopefully he can find that place. SIU needs a couple of bigs, and this frees up another scholarship.

Looks like 2 more Salukis are transferring- Harwin Francois and Stevan Jeremic. Bummed about Francois, I thought he was solid during his limited playing time off the bench. SIU might be in trouble if Cook decides to transfer.
