I thought about mentioning him, but I honestly didn't do research and only went on what I've watched though. Looking now he definitely had two of his rougher games against Loyola... he only played 39 minutes with 11 points and 10 fouls total. Looks like he really did finish the season strong though! Was that with a position switch?
I think Keiths better end of the season was really just do to increased confidence. When ISU brought him in, a lot of fans expected him to be a significant contributor right out of the gate. During his redshirt year, fans saw his energy and leadership on the sidelines- holding every player accountable. Then Muller and other players talked him up too as someone who is “the hardest kid they’ve ever seen play,” something that’s really been missing at ISU. He saw and heard this everywhere he went and really pressed out of the gate. He played tight, and you could tell. All year he seemed to get to the hoop with easy but The ball would roll off the rim. Towards the end of the season he seemed to settle in and really just start making his bunnies. It could coincide with with Muller went with a consistent starting lineup of Horne, Copeland, Hillsman, Abdou, and Fisher allowed him to get more comfortable and understand his role.
I think Fisher might benefit the most of the Redbirds can land one of these grad transfer 5’s theyre after. It’ll allow Fisher to stay at the 4, he can shoot the three ball, and guard all 5 positions. With how bad this season went for ISU, I was looking forward to the 20-21 season in mid January. Hopefully we see some more results because I do think they have a lot of talent as well as a better culture developing. In years passed fans questioned the effort of the team, that was not so much an issue during this awful season.
