Because the two largest followings have the farthest to travel. Plus the Scottrade is a dump.

That would be a reason not to move it. CU and WSU fans will keep showing up in STL. Not sure if you gain anymore to cover what would be lost from the other schools that STL is closer too. All-session tickets isn't something to go by anyways. WSU and CU fans are more likely to make a weekend of it, unlike MSU, SIU, ISUr, ISUb, BU, and UE fans who are all within 200 miles of STL.

Distance from Valley cities to STL: 2504 miles
Distance from Valley cities to KC: 2963 miles

WSU fans would double if it were in KC, maybe more. Not sure about the other schools. I would bet CU and Drake would have larger followings in KC.

I got those #'s directed from the MVC.

And those #'s only represent all session tickets sold thru the schools.

It wouldn't really hurt MSU or UNI attendance either. Sure, the Illinois fans might actually have to plan a weekend for a change. The Indiana schools would be the concern, but it's not like they travel well anyway.

I would love to see it rotate. I'm not a big fan of STL and hate having to make that drive every year but I do. Hopefully I'll be able to continue that. If it were in KC I may be able to save a few vacation days from time to time as well. And I simply enjoy KC much better than I do STL. And Sprint is a far better venue than Scottrade.

But it's not going to happen anytime soon. Especially with Elgin running things.

UE and Indiana State haven't typically traveled well to STL because more often than not, they aren't competitive.

Looking at the last 10 years, there has been three where UE and ISU-Blue were the 9th and 10th seeds. Every one of those last 10 seasons, at least one of the two teams was playing on Thursday.

STL is an easy trip from Evansville or Terre Haute, so I'd hope that the two teams will have an enhanced presence at Arch Madness this year.

It ain't broke and doesn't need to be fixed.

This is one of the most successful college basketball tournaments in the country. Moving it would make it a financial loser and would be a detriment to the conference as a whole.

If you're going to move it, you may as well put it back on campus.

It would be nice if they did two years in St. Louis and 1 year in Kansas City. Having to drive 8 hours back to Wichita (every year) after a loss stings a little bit.

I hear ya! I've experience the 'sting' 15 consecutive times and it's looking like I'll get stung again.

Seems to me St. Louis is the perfect place for the Valley tourney. I would like to see a Thanksgiving Tournament in Kansas City that would include Valley teams. (not playing each other ofcourse)
