He will retire at the end of the 2020-21 school year. I think he served the conference well during his time. Obviously, sending one team to the Final 4 and then replacing that school with another Final 4 team.
It will be good to get some fresh idea's in the commissioner's chair but I really appreciate what Elgin has done for the league.
To the new commissioner, there is one thing that you have to promise to do.... KEEP ARCH MADNESS IN SAINT LOUIS FOREVER.
I'm in the minority here but I would actually love to see Arch Madness in a different location rotating around. I think Des Moines would do an outstanding job, Chicago could work if you can find the right situation, KC probably doesn't make much sense anymore without Wichita and Crayton, but I think Indy could be on the table and would do a good job too.......but I digress.
Elgin did an outstanding job as commish. If you look at where the league was when he took over, what it has done during his time, and where it is now......its crazy. He put the Valley on the map. Will be interesting to see who they bring in and what his or her approach is going to be.
