For the 3rd straight game, UE is going to be without 2 starters: Newton - discipline (maybe) and Curtis - transfer. Both should be eligible the 4th game of the season. Tough to say how good/bad team will be this season until they both get on the court and play some games. Curtis should provide the scorer the Aces lack right now.

I apologize on behalf of Valpo fans everywhere for that effort last night... We are not a very good basketball team right now...UIC has gotten way better in recent years and it shows under Yaklich... I feel very sad and ashamed with how we seem to let the conference down at every opportunity...

You’re not on the basketball team, relax lol. There’s no reason to apologize for something you had nothing to do with. On top of that I wasn’t let down, I put my money on UIC.

I have never seen a team find more ways to blow leads than SEMO just did against SIU (going to OT).

Even still, gotta like SIU’s new pieces!! Really like the freshman Dalton Banks.

Rebounding will be something the coaches will need to emphasize/work on. This win will bode well for the future.

Salukis stole one against SEMO. Definitely looked like the layoff from COVID hurt them early and then had to fight back in the first half. Rebounding is a huge concern but they have some offensive weapons in Marcus Domask, Ben Harvey, Anthony D'Avanzo and freshman Dalton Banks

Redbirds won, scoring 177 points. Freshman Emon Washington scored 30 as the Birds shot over 84% as a team.

It was a fun game, high paced, lots of turnovers, lots of points. It was the Globetrotters vs the Generals. The only reason I could see them watching film of the game is to talk about better decision making when passing the ball. Lazy passes led to 22 turnovers. They did have 57 assists though.

Every player that played scored, and all but the two walk-ons were in double figures.

I've talked at length about the youth of this team before. To put it in perspective, of the 177 scored, 152 were by freshman and sophomores.

The Redbirds are hoping for a D1 game on Saturday, but if that doesn't happen they have nonD1 options. Either way, we should find out their next game today. I'd prefer a D1 game but if not, that's fine too. The team will need to reset and remember how to play in the half court. Plus, it'd be good to get a win going into finals week.

:Bam: Apparently Bradley is now scheduled to play Greenville. Why, what is the purpose.

I’m wondering if playing a gimmick team like Greenville is even beneficial to Division 1 teams. Yeah it’s fun to score 170 points and get on SportsCenter but it seems like it could lead to bad habits in the short term. I looked at the 3 teams that beat Greenville and all 3 teams lost their next game including Murray State who got blown out by a weak Middle Tennessee team. I guess we’ll see how the Redbirds respond, granted their next scheduled game isn’t for 10 days
