Conference schedules out

Postby BEARZ77 » December 4th, 2020, 2:44 pm

Conference schedules are out and I feel like the Bears got an incredible break overall at least on paper. Now I'm not saying they will be ready to take advantage of it, at most we might get to play 2 games before conference season starts as it stands now, so we will be vastly less prepared than many teams like Drake, UNI, Bradley who look to play many more noncon games. The Bears do have to open with two games at UNI and given how poorly we played UNI last year, that will be tough, but the timing might be right givn Green's status. But we get Bradley, Loyola, Indiana State and Drake all at home and of course h/h with SIU. Road games at the others will be tough, they always are, but getting all the top projected teams other than UNI at home is more than could be expected.

As an ISUr fan, I like ours. We play Loyola and Drake on the road (were not going to win them anyways) and get Valpo, MSU and Indy St at home. We play Evansville on the road. Would rather play teams we can beat at home, and teams we can not on the road this year. The only road game of a team we should beat is Evansville (maybe the only team we should beat). So maybe that one will backfire.

Looks like somebody making the schedules is really a Bears fan.

The Bears arent a factor this year. Its UNI, loyola, Bradley and the Drake. the rest of the teams are insignificant

Don't overlook the Sycs. LaRavia + Key are as good as any 1-2 punch in the league.

I say let the season play out a little before pronouncing teams irrelevant. Valpo didn't look irrelevant last night against Purdue.

I've said that all along , Indiana State on paper has as much talent as Bradley , the only question for me is Lansing. And as hotnuts notes, not sure I'd be ruling out too many teams at this point, in this year especially. Drake was picked 7th I believe in the preseason poll, now with a few wins seem to be trendy, others could emerge . I get any hesitation for the Bears given last year and questions about CDF, I have the same reservations. But Mosley and Prim are as talented an inside outside combo as any and if Dana can just get a more team oriented approach and consistency out of this bunch, again I'll stack this rosters talent against any in the league. Other than UNI, the Bears have played evenly against the other top teams under Dana in his 2yrs, the problem has been they've played evenly against some of the others as well. I'll probably pick them 5th or 6th, but I wouldn't be happy playing them twice in Springfield if I was one of the top 2-3 teams.
But again as hotnuts said, let the games decide.

Looks like the Bears have the easiest schedule in the Valley. Was not excited to see that Loyola has to play Drake, MSU, and Bradley all away.

Do we know what the attendance policy is going to be? Can you host fans at both games?
