UNI Loss

Just struck a serious blow to the league getting 2 bids IMHO. I hate to see it because I think we should be a 2 bid league every year.

I agree. The Panthers probably had the best non-conf resume in terms of 'wins' and can still add a big one with GMU, but I think this loss to a 200 RPI level team will be the tipping point for bad losses (to go with Iowa and SIU).

Best chance for two Valley bids is WSU finishing the conference slate with no more than one loss (at UNI or at MSU), winning their BB and then stumbling in St. Louis.

UNI was very unlikely to get an at-large bid even if they had won this game. And, if UNI had won, it would have damaged WSU's chances for an at-large.

This is an old thread. He was talking about an older UNI loss.

I still like this team, and think they are capable of postseason play this year, but the last time I saw a UNI basketball team give up I was with 300 of my closest friends in the UNI-Dome watching a Sam Weaver team.

Despite the teams play, I think we've finally reached a point where going to a UNI basketball game is a real event for the students they don't want to miss. It was great to see the student section having such a good time at the game, as they have all year. That's been a long time coming, starting with a meeting I attended as a student with Eldon Miller about 15 years ago.
