Loyola's looked really good after the first half debacle against Richmond; really seemed like something clicked after that (getting a solid 9 man rotation also helped). Glad we got a game with the defending C-USA champs North Texas who've played a rugged schedule and are outstanding defensively. Their play style would fit very well in the Valley.

Biggest surprise so far this year has been Aher Uguak who looks like a completely new player and is coming off a 26 point outing. He's been shooting the 3 with success and looks much more confident. The other surprise has been Tom Welch, who's been spelling Krutwig with Agunanne out. He's got a really nice looking shot from range and has been pretty impressive scoring inside. Still not a true center and more of a stretch 4/Aundre Jackson type but he's been a pleasant surprise. Marquise Kennedy has been dealing with an ankle, but has looked back up to speed the last two weeks; his all around game has improved immensely; I have to imagine it's his team next year.

Dear God, Drake up 20 at halftime.

Todd Lickliter and Darian DeVries are putting on a coaching clinic.

Yikes, I was completely wrong about SIU after their wins against Murray State— who are struggling in the OVC— and Butler. I don’t even think Barry Hinson had a team that looked so awful in a conference game.. drake could have won by 50. Salukis better show up next weekend against Indiana State or else they’ll be playing on Thursday.

Kudos to Drake, though. They are a fun team to watch. They’ll be top 25 come next Monday.

Maybe, but they have to beat Loyola on Sunday to accomplish that. That's going to be a very tough game.

I hate to say this, but the game was not as close as the 31 point difference at the end. Drake had 3rd stringers out there when SIU still had a couple starters in.

I still think the future is very bright for SIU, but they need to get more athletic.

I could see any outcome next week in Drake/Loyola. Drake sweep, Loyola sweep, or a split. Both teams are talented and really deep. Should Drake come away with 2 wins there's no reason they shouldn't be ranked. Up until now Drakes schedules been pretty bad, but they've done what great teams do against bad teams so I'm hoping for a fun series! Sucks it can't be a home and home full of fans.

I also completely agree on SIU. They play have a bunch of Bryan Mullins like players (as a Loyola fan I think Ben Richardson)... That's great! But they need a few more guys who can create their own shots/blow by someone if they're going to compete at a higher level, they've just looked a bit slow, and their wins don't look as strong as they once did... It'll just take a little more time.
