The concern is not with the players, but with audience of several thousands turning into a super spreader event.

What I have found semi-confusing is the events that had fans haven't for the most part opened an upper deck. For example, Saturday's game at Lambeau field had all the fans in the lower half of the bowl. There was no one in the upper bowl. Seems like a missed opportunity.

Selfishly I hope they don't allow fans because I won't be able to go this year. My wife is pregnant with our first child and due March 21st so she has already made it clear that I will not be allowed to go. It'll be only my second time missing the tournament since 2010.

Stop being so selfish! You should have known better than to do something like that 9 months away from Arch Madness. Just kidding. Congratulations by the way, that's awesome! I have one on the way as well, but not until later. I should be in the clear... Just hope that the baby doesn't decide to come early, then you will be stuck in the birthday party cycle of the first weekend of March for the foreseeable future.

I can see a setup where they allow fans, but you have to provide proof of completing vaccination. Unfortunately, that likely means many younger fans/families may not be able to attend.

But if they can keep ladies with handbags and purses out (and dudes with murses), they have the security in place to verify vaccination.

That is going to be unquestionably the standard for all events by the end of the year once the vaccine in generally available and all events are allowed to be back at full capacity. I look forward to seeing all my fellow vaccinated fans in 2022.

I don't know how different it is from Springfield to St. Louis, but as of now it's 35% capacity at JHQ Arena. Tickets being sold in pods of up to 6. Nice crowd for tonight's women's game.

35% sounds dangerously high now.

Good luck with that. Once everyone that wants the vaccine can get one then everything should reopen at full capacity. There's no need to prove that you have the vaccine once everyone can get one. If you are vaccinated, you are protected. I don't see the point of vaccine cards and a lot of people are very anti-vax anyways especially with this new vaccine that was produced in record time. If you try to force everyone to get it, then it's going to only make those kinds of people trust it less and less likely to get it at all.

The issue is that there will be some that cannot take the vaccine for various reasons. The reason others should get it is to help protect those who cannot.
