Didn't realize they'd relocated Illinois State...

And not to derail the thread too much, but I think next year looks really bright too for a few teams. If DeVries stays around and AJ comes back healthy, the battle for Iowa will be intense.

:+1: keeping DeVries could be a challenge, Cyclones are in desperate need of a real Coach.[/quote]

If you can keep a coach in Cedar Falls i have to believe we can keep one in Des Moines.

Agree, 5 year extension at $ 900 K per year would be a good start.

No clue why Drake quit playing team ball. Not listening to DD?

This is the most conflicted I have ever felt after a Valpo win... On one hand this is huge for us as a program to knock off a ranked team in conference. That gives me a lot of hope for the future. On the other hand this might have killed the dream of a two bid Valley and that is sad to me. I guess if somebody was going to do it I'm glad it was us but I really wanted to see the MVC be a two bid league again. Hopefully Valpo can get to contributing to making sure that happens sometime soon. Right now though This victory feels bittersweet and conflicting for me... I wish Drake had scheduled better in the non conference so that a loss like this wouldn't make me feel like the hopes for a multibid Valley are in jeopardy and I could just enjoy the win by my Crusaders.

The Valpo youth are coming together and played two games at near peak level.

Drake responded to the challenge yesterday for a hard earned win. Today I hardly recognized them. That isn't an insult but an inquiry. What happened?

I felt this way many times when Drake was bad and was playing the conference leader. Oh well. The Dogs looked bad and Valpo looked good. Not that it mattered but officiating was questionable.

Yeah, but you have to pay that for Ben Jacobsen. Not really a bargain.

Would prefer DeVries over BJ.

Lunardi still has Drake pretty safely in right now so that's good... My concern however is whether they will be able to sustain that after a possible sweep at the hands of Loyola or what one or more losses by Loyola would do to the MVC's multibid chances... If 2 bids is the goal is a split between LUC and Drake the best possible outcome? Or does one need to sweep and then the other has to win in St Louis?
