Porter has done an incredible job at building Loyola into a powerhouse. Outstanding program, top-notch academic institution, Chicago..they will be dominant for many years to come with him as head coach.

And all Drake had to do was beat Valpo and we would have two teams in the top 25 for the first time in years.

I agree Loyola is really on an upward trajectory. But to me Krutwig has been the central figure there. He's just a once in a generation type post player. It will be interesting to see if Loyola can maintain that excellence once he's graduated and gone.

Krutwig has been outstanding. But I don't think the train stops with him. Everyone is pretty high on Jacob Hutson who was originally supposed to red shirt but has shown nicely in limited time, not to mention Tom Welch also improved massively as a stretch 5 + Chris Knight from the Ivy League (6'7 5 man who made all ivy second team the last two seasons)... Now i agree, none are going to be Krutwig, but still a lot to look forward to. Kennedy is usually the go to scorer when Krutwigs out. He's been battling an ankle injury throughout the year, but he's been a monster when playing.

Agreed. I don't think Loyola will be the favorite next year (that'll likely be Drake / UNI if they do return what people think they are likely to return)...but I think Loyola will be right there as a top 3 or 4 team. Losing Krut (and Williamson, Hall, Uguak, Clemons) will hurt. But the incoming talent (talented duo of senior Ivy League transfers and two really good freshmen) plus Norris/Kennedy/Welch/Hebb/Hutson means Loyola isn't going anywhere.

Disappointing for sure. I was rooting for Drake even though the loss is a huge boost to Loyola's title chances.

Any word on those seniors for Loyola wanting to run it back after this season? Krutwig deserves his 400th year in the MVC. The opportunity to win a lot of games could be enticing and I don't see any of those guys as NBA prospects. They could all make $$$ overseas, though.

Porter Moser is not the type to release that information while basketball is still being played. I'm assuming everyone is focused on the upcoming games. I also think the result of this season/post season could play a large factor in deciding whether anyone is going to come back.
