Good game from Loyola. Pretty trashy jawing at Drake’s players and coaching staff after a loss though. Still some iffy calls against Drake today but at least they didn’t foul out Brodie by halftime.

It's tough to say who started the s*** talking without being on the court, but it should make arch madness more entertaining.

Haha, I’m glad you took my point. Both teams are great and should be in the NCAA at the end of the year.

LOL....I'm pretty sure that Loyola got the benefit of more than a few calls throughout the weekend. But, that might have been a questionable call

What an incredibly intense game. I was there, and didn't really see what set off the post-game "argument". But, after such an intense game, you know emotions are going to be high. Glad that cooler heads prevailed, and there was no physical contact.

I’m jealous I wish I could have been there. There’s always going to be bad calls going both ways, I only brought that up because Loyola lost and I’m salty lol. I’m looking forward to the rematch, hopefully in the arch madness finals.

Based on the broadcast Penn was the biggest instigator by a mile for the post game talk, but again that’s tv. Announcers also reference an assistant coach getting involved.

Fouls were a big difference for drake. 22 in the first, only 12 today. Loyola had 16 each. Def thought drake got lucky with some calls the screen was a back breaker (along with the CIRCUS Murphy shot) but Loyola had a shot at the end and couldn’t finish. Given the desperation from drake, on the road with fans for only the second time this season in day 2? I’m disappointed but happy with the results.

Good for the valley, both teams deserve a bid!

I'm 99.9% sure the announcers were not there, but were broadcasting remotely. I'm guessing there was no way for them to see what actually happened, unless they had access to video of every player and coach on both teams.

They were there on the upper level. Lehman tweeted pictures of he and Matvick pregame. KL has gotten really good at this whole TV thing.

Thanks for clarifying. I'm actually quite surprised, because I know ESPN has had remote announcers at lots of games this season.

And you can tell when they're remote. I freaking hate it.

As a third-party observer just rooting for a good game, moving screen on Krutwig, by definition, was correct. However, that is also how Krut sets about 80% of his screens. So, why it was called at that time in the game was a little curious. It's kind of like holding in football. They say it happens on every play, stripes only call it occasionally.

With the chippiness at the end, I loved to see it. On the broadcast, it definitely made Drake look like the instigators, but I have seen other footage that could suggest otherwise. I could see it building during the game. I don't know on the Drake side, but Williamson appeared to be one of the more vocal guys on the Blers' side. This is a year where I would have loved this series to be played in a normal setting with fans and not back-to-back. The back-to-back certainly helped fuel the fire, though.

Hopefully, there will be chalk in STL, so we can get a round 3. Unless you know, the Birds catch fire and make it to Sunday. :D

Completely agree on the screen. Still was a great game. I was excited to see the Blers stay ranked at 22, shows a good amount of respect for Drake as well. I was hoping Drake would sneak in at 25, probably would have had game 1 been a bit tighter.

I'm all for it in game, just kinda lame post game a day after getting smashed. But hey, I feel like most Loyola fans are looking for a rivalry with some juice. Bradley/UNI have been the closest, UNI kind of a more respected rival with really good fundamental basketball and great games, and Bradley of the chippier/physical variety.
