Probably????? 32 points and 5 assists off the bench is more than probably. He could have had 40 if DeVries didn't take him out with 7-8 minutes to go (which was absolutely the right thing to do)

Sorry that I didn't word it just like you wanted.

Horrible news for Drake,j just hope that if they don't win the Tournament that the NCAA holds Penn being out for them to get an at large bid.NCAA has a tendency to do that against mid majors

Well of course they will. We have lost our leading scorer, second leading scorer, assist leader and second leading rebounder.

I wouldn't count the Bulldogs out, Yesufu is a ball of energy, Sturtz hustle plays are a joy to watch, DJ Wilkins is almost a shutdown defender, Murphy can be the best player on the court. Hands down DeVries is the best coach in the Valley. Need Brodie to wake up and start contributing.

UE couldn't stop Brodie at all yesterday, but he took himself out of the game with fouls. If he stays out of foul trouble, he can probably drop 25 on UE. Drake's three centers combined for 20 yesterday.

iron man Basketball Except for Brodie.

On Drakenation, we were all wondering who would back up Yesufu. I guess the answer is that he doesn't need a backup.

Talk about a guy who has exploded recently. He has set career high in scoring in 4 of his last 6 games.

First it was 18 against UNI. Then 20 at UNI. Then 32 against Evansville yesterday, and then 36 against UE today. The kid is going to be a handful for the next 2-3 years.

Drake continuing to prove me wrong by winning even with their best players injured. Thought they would get blown out 2x by Loyola without Hemphil, but we are able to split. Then losing Penn for the year and sweeping Evansville. SO much talent in Des Moines and great coaching! Them and Loyola are going to duke it out for the MVC title for the next several years. Incredible job by Drake fighting through the adversity! How can you not root for these guys??

Not knowing which Seniors will return for a 5th year for each team in 2021-22
Loyola could need to replace:
Krutwig
Williamson
Uguak
Clemons
Hall

Drake could need to replace:
Murphy
Hemphill

So I wouldn’t write in Loyola and Drake as the top two teams just yet.
Missouri State has only one Senior. Illinois State (no Senior’s) & Southern Illinois all have a lot of young talent returning.

I think projections for next year will be very difficult till the summer plays out with who returns, transfers, possible coaching moves etc. There will be a lot of veteran teams in the Valley and a lot of young talent. You'll have teams like UNI/Bradley expecting to be able to regroup and challenge again, but maybe finding it a lot more crowded path back up the ladder. Gotta wonder about transfers in and out with the relaxed rules, so does a team like Valpo again see promising productive guys like Krikke and Clay look elsewhere as has been Valpo's bane of late. I probably say it every year, but just think next year is probably as intriguing as it gets with all the variables to yet see play out. And that's before the rest of this year unfolds which I still think will have a surprise or two. The PIG will likely have 3 teams picked for the top half of the league, and one of those will get an injury depleted Drake team in the 2nd round, so who knows what can happen. Other than Loyola , no team looks that secure, and Loyola has had a couple blips , so again, who knows.
Great theater in the Valley these days and more to come.

Drake needs to look at their our of season strength and conditioning. TONS of stress-type injuries the last three years.
