Lansing

Saw a tweet by a sportswriter that said Lansing will not be back next. I know it's been much conjectured, but any word from Sycamore fans.

ISU MBB Budget Rank - 208

Year - KenPom
11 - 108 (+100)
12 - 137 (+71)
13 - 92 (+116)
14 - 108 (+100)
15 - 169 (+39)
16 - 168 (+40)
17 - 199 (+9)
18 - 138 (+70)
19 - 208 (0)
20 - 122 (+86)
21 - 120 (+88)

If ISU hired the “reverse-Greg Lansing”, here’s what their KenPom would look like:
11 - 308 (-100)
12 - 279 (-71)
13 - 324 (-116)
14 - 308 (-100)
15 - 247 (-39)
16 - 248 (-40)
17 - 217 (-9)
18 - 278 (-70)
19 - 208 (0)
20 - 294 (-86)
21 - 296 (-88)

Here’s ISU’s KenPom predating Lansing (KenPom goes back to ‘02):
02 - 228
03 - 266
04 - 190
05 - 160
06 - 179
07 - 140
08 - 132
09 - 203
10 - 138

ISU’s budget rank - 208
Pre-GL Kenpom avg - 182
GL Kenpom avg - 142

Lansing is outperforming his school’s commitment by an average of 66 spots per year over a decade.
Lansing is outperforming the decade preceding him by an average of 40 spots per year.

Who does ISU expect to take the job at $249k that will be an upgrade over Lansing and - by extension - outperform the school’s budget by 70+ spots annually?

ISU’s budget is 208th as their administration has decided to allocate resources where football expenditures more than double MBB expenditures.

Logically, ISU’s AD shouldn’t be handing Lansing a pinkslip - especially when Lansing’s overperformance is subsidizing his misallocation of resources. If anything, Lansing has a more logical case to be handing the AD his walking papers.

I was ready for him to go after the 1-5 MVC start. I want him to come back now. Would rather see our AD go to be honest.

It’s not the AD, it’s the president pushing him out. I hear she’s a real piece of work. AD tried to extend last year, Lansing said no. This year, the president says no. I swear, they live in La La Land over there.

Best of luck to ‘em. They’re gonna need it.

Supposedly they have their hearts set on Purdue assistant Micah Shrewsberry. Good luck with that.

She needs to go too. She already ruined homecoming. Never wanted us to hire her in the first place.

C'mon folks get it right. It's 250k and a Hyundai from former MLB journeyman Brian Dorsett's local Terre Haute Hyundai Dealers. (I wish I was joking)
