Yo, I'm about to go party all night. The almighty Wichita State Shockers, aka the Gonzaga of the Midwest, that were too good for the MVC lost to Drake who is historically one of the worst programs in the MVC. Drake now has more tournament wins than Wichita since they left. Lmao you can't make this stuff up.

Hard to think of a better opening to the tourney than WSU going down to a runner-up valley team that hasn't beat the shockers in ten years!

This shorthanded Drake team just plays with a lot of heart. They came out unbelievably tight, you could tell that nerves were getting to them. Down by 10, Brodie on the bench with 4 fouls, and they never quit.

Joe Yesufu's dunk was insane. 5'10" dunking over 6'7". Hard to believe they didn't call the WSU guy for the hard foul on the play.

Tremell Murphy's three 3's down the stretch were huge.

DJ Wilkins did nothing offensively, but held Ettiene (player of the year in their conference)to one point.

As DeVries said in the locker room after the game. "Now, we're just balling". Just go out and have fun Saturday.

It's got to be tough for the WSU fans to lose to an MVC team that was playing without it's two best players.

Congrats Drake!!! What a cathartic win for all Valley fans.

It would have been easy to pack it in when things weren’t going their way, but they showed a lot of mental toughness and stayed within striking distance.

That was probably the weirdest game I've ever seen. Not only because both teams shot so poorly but because for large parts of both the first and second half it looked like Drake was going to be blown out, but then scratched their way back.



Anyway, great job not giving up and keep winning!

Awesome win by Drake.Someone said something about Drake didn't play very well,that was because Wichita played in your face defense. I believe what cost Wichita was they had a 12 point lead and got away from going inside. But Drake also could have adjusted. Anyway Awesome win.

Just a totally out of character start to the game. There were definitely some deer-in-the-headlights moments, but what a comeback! Congratulations to The Drake!
