LOYOLA will be in the MVC next year.Seems to me if any changes were made DePaul should join the MVC.
Its obvious they cant compete in the conference there in now.

lol that will never happen. nobody is dropping down from a major basketball conference. they just need to hire a good coach. the recruiting is literally built in. just need the right guy to open the city pipeline.

I'm not sure how the total athletic department budget and revenue work, but how big a financial hit would DePaul or any school take making a move like this?
I've also wondered about that with UConn moving back to the Big East and losing the football money that came with being in the American.

DePaul would benefit from not having to travel the distances it has to for all sports. As far as finding a coach,I believe there last 4 to 5 coaches have been a bust

I wouldn't even want the MVC to invite Depaul. They are so irrelevant. Still living off of whatever name they had 30 years ago.

St Louis U is also a no go for me. I drove over to their campus before the Sunday game and was not impressed at all. It looked like a good place to get shot or robbed at 2 in the morning.

Quite frankly I wish the MVC would leave St Louis. Every year I go back it seems like the city is just getting worse and worse. I went to the OVC tournament in Evansville and the Ford Center is actually in a safe and nice area. Time for the MVC to find a nicer medium sized city for our tournament too.

As for Loyola I would hate to see them leave. I also would hate to see Porter go. He seems like a really good guy that recruits classy players. They're an easy club to root for, unlike a certain team from Kansas was.

Let's add Belmont and Murray and have the MVC Conference Tournament at the Ford Center.

I'll give the new AD the benefit of the doubt. Lenti-Ponsetto was a horrendous AD who destroyed that basketball program.

Are you coming down to see your new coach in action at the D-2 Elite 8?

According to wiki the Ford center capacity is 10,000 for basketball. As I recall the MVC tourney had much larger crowds in the past. Would it be large enough?

I would if I was going to be around. I went down there for the Final 4 whenever USI was in it a couple of years ago. I'm sure it won't all be general admission this year. USI played in the second game so I think I had 5th row seats.

As for UE hosting the MVC tourney, I'd be all for it. There's plenty of free parking there too. And it sure as heck beats the ghetto called St Louis. Most years you have people laying in the middle of the sidewalks (it's all an act) over in SL. It's just disgraceful.
