I am aware there is no Valpo. Time to rectify that mistake

I agree. Valpo needs to commit to facilities and really try to become a Valley peer institution.
If they aren't willing to take that step then it's time to move on with a partner that is.

I would just state for the 37 millionth time.

UNI left the Dakotas and the North Central Conference 40 years ago and has absolutely no desire to get back into bed with them. Geography and a dying Gateway forced everybody's hands in football, it's not happening in all sports.

The political bullshit and victimhood they pull behind closed doors would destroy this league just as they're doing to the schools they don't want in the Summit right now.

My my, testy for only 2 posts. Relax, there's very few scenarios that are remotely possible, and fewer that are favorable. For the most part, the teams that could push the needle positively aren't gonna drop to the Valley and most of the others , well hopefully we won't look at . You might note, this thread started 3 and a half years ago, and nothing has changed league wise in the time since.

I believe the new commissioner is going to make a move to get the presidents to add Belmont and Murray. The OVC is far more unstable than previously thought, and those two programs and the MVC are made for each other. I think this will happen sooner rather than later.

That would appease a lot of people; I'm pretty "meh" on the need to expand unless it's impact level schools, but both of these would be solid adds. It gives the league both a private and a public add, 2 good basketball programs , a quality wbb program, another fb team, and they're both in the geographic footprint of the league. But we've heard this before, so who knows.

Belmont also gets us into Nashville and, most likely, gets the league TV network onto Bally Sports Tennessee which is a Bally Sports South alternate channel. Would get our product all the way into Atlanta and the Carolinas.

Is this based off of any inside source? Just curious, because I'd love for this to happen! At this point though, all of the signs just pointed to it not happening.

This.
If we must add, these two make sense. I guess I just see these two as dilution more than strengthening. They MAY become the 2 best teams in the league but I don't think even that increases the profile of the league to the point of multiple bids.
