Belmont went 26–4 (18–2 OVC) and got snubbed from both the NCAA and NIT (which stopped taking regular season champs). They might be more interested in a stronger conference this time around after that experience.

Big news in the B12. Seems like it's practically a done deal too. OU and Texas to SEC.

Do we think the shift works its way to the Valley?

If Texas and Oklahoma go to the SEC hat leaves them with 16. I would expect all major conferences to go 16 with he Big 12 folding. Maybe the B1G could swoop up two of OK State, Kansas, or Baylor.

I doubt this would impact the Valley since it's non-football. The B12 would backfill with Memphis/Cincy from the AAC (or UConn from BE). If they just take from the AAC, the AAC would backfill with other football schools from CUSA or MAC. If UConn leaves the BE though it's back to 10 and might stand pat. If they replace them they then take the best available basketball school, which is likely from the A10 (Dayton/SLU/St Joes?). And A10 might then offer Loyola. But would Loyola want a watered down A10? I guess if the MAC or CUSA gets raided they could then offer a MVFC team to jump. So I guess it's possible. Will have to see how it plays out.

Backfill? It's possible 9 of 10 get picked up.

West Virginia to acc. Texas and ou to sec. 2 to big ten. I'm hoping ok state and baylor. Kansas and Kansas state and Texas tech and TCU to the pac 12. That leaves just iowa state left out. Iowa state joins the aac.

Then Iowa state joins the aac and then the best of the aac and mwc should merge. Maybe even Brigham young would join. Would be a pretty good football conference.

Of course it will be some sort of mixture. Possible cincy, ucf, or Houston gets picked up by a p5 instead of a Texas tech or Kansas state
