Now the AAC will add with a football focus. You're talking Marshall (the school), Florida Atlantic and maybe a MAC team or two.

MAYBE Marshal or JMU. But, I suspect theyll look towards the west. Theyll try for Boise State, San Diego State, Colorado State

Mountain West is going to be clearly superior product to the AAC. If the AD from Boise or SDSU pushed for a move to the AAC, they should be immediately fired.

I know it sounds crazy but with no perfect fits available is there any chance for a Gonzaga, Wichita St jump to the Mountain West?

Absolutely. Gonzaga is gone. Either Big East or MWC. If its MWC the league would have to add two basketball only schools to keep it even.

Gonzaga will be fine without BYU in the WCC. Moving to the MWC would do little for them and the Big East just isn't feasible. I don't see them going anywhere.

The problem with standing at the top is that any stumble will drop you in a direction you do not want to go. I can't imagine the Zag's ease of scheduling to be in a permanently stable position.BYU leaves and not good but maybe not a disaster. What if Few suddenly retires? What then?

I mean Gonzaga has been doing this for like 20 years now and they've been fine. Few is only 58 years old. I think if they decide to stay in the WCC, they'll be more than fine.

Austin Peay to the ASUN, leaving one less decent school in the OVC. Lets restart the "This could get Belmont on board to jump with Murray to the MVC" conversation.

Just spitballing here but IF we could get all of Murray State Belmont Little Rock and Oral Robets on board should we consider going to 14 or is it best for us to just go to 12 (assuming Murray State and Belmont are willing) and call it a day?

The reason I ask is that if Missouri State is possibly looking at its options (not sure how credible those rumors are) maybe we can entice them to stay by

1. Adding more regional rivals so that they feel like less of a geographic outlier within the conference and

2. Making not only men's basketball but also baseball and women's basketball (two sports MSU cares about) stronger.

Of course if they're looking at FBS that's quite a carrot and I'm not sure the MVC can do anything to match it short of going FBS themselves in the MVFC.

The MVC should only expand to 12. Now is the perfect time to go after Belmont who has been reluctant to join and then obviously we should bring in Murray State with them.

I have doubts that Missouri State is going to leave. If they do eventually leave they are going FBS and wouldn't stay no matter who we add because they are being driven by football aspirations if they leave.
