I love the addition of Belmont. Men's basketball is obviously most important but they're very good in other sports as well including women's basketball. I've been to their arena (Curb Event Center) and it's very similar to Loyola's. Also the addition of Nashville is great for the Valley, I expect weekend games will be very popular for Valley fans during conference season going forward.

In terms of Murray State, I'm hoping they're the next addition but SIU's play by play guy Mike Reis on Twitter is saying that SIU fought and blocked Murray State last time they were available but leadership is different now. But if Murray State isn't the next addition, that might be why.

They don’t really have one to speak of, not one that sees any action. You’ll be highly disappointed in their fan support come Arch Madness. With Murray State you’d see a sea of rowdy blue and gold.

If this is true, you know a "twelfth" was also invited.
So, once again, if true, looks like we're getting Belmont and Murray.

Belmont is private, and Murray is public. This makes sense as far as keeping the private/public balance evenflow. Belmont makes a great addition.

Sorry, but this is a joke. Wichita won't come back because of their ego and belief (realistic or otherwise) that the depleted/retooled AAC will still be an upgrade over the Valley going forward. But to suggest that UT-Arlington would be a better conference member than Wichita on its merits is absurd. The chasm between the programs is enormous in every way: tradition, fan bases, resources, etc.
