Very excited and happy that Belmont is coming but also disappointed that they appear to be the only addition right now. I hope we're not planning on going into next season with 11 teams. We wouldn't do that for Murray State but we'll do it for Belmont when Murray State is as good or better? That's such a slap in the face to a proud program if true. I hope there's more to the story than that. I want the Racers in the MVC and have since we were invited. THAT was the time to go to and stay at 11 for a few years until a twelfth opened up (I.E. Belmont came around). This time we have our twelfth it's just time to bring them in.

Less details to work out when you don’t have to find a home for football. Ultimately I believe we will be joining as well. Just have more loose ends to tidy up when you have football. My prediction is next season both Murray State and Belmont will be in the MVC. I certainly hope this happens. Just wait till y’all see Racer Nation in St Louis.

If football really is the sticking point would it really be so bad for Murray State to drop scholarships and join the Pioneer League? I know there's a pride thing involved in keeping scholarship football but given the benefits to the athletic department at large for Murray State to join the MVC would this really be so bad? Many of the schools in the PFL are in the midwest anyway. I just don't know if there is a football conference suitable for the Racers if the MVFC isn't going to let them in. Maybe the Big South?
