REPORT: Murray to the Valley?

Matt Jones from Kentucky Sports Radio makes it more than just an obvious rumor. He’s pretty reliable, wouldn’t be putting things out there on a whim.

Matt Jones doesn’t put that out there unless he is pretty damn certain about it. God I hope it’s true because I’m ready to be in a league where everyone is enthused and basketball crazy! Let’s get it!

Hope it's true. I'm pretty excited already because this seems like a pretty reliable source.

I'm waiting on official confirmation before I let myself get too high but it's pretty hard to contain myself. I've wanted this since 2017 and I am so excited if it's true! This is huge for the conference!

I agree, cautiously optimistic. Murray to the Valley seemed a certainty at times in 2017, and I'd like to know where Jones is hearing this from, but it's an encouraging tweet.

Murray wasn't my first choice but that said, they're a very nice add.

We're definitely better than the Mountain West and should be right in the same neighborhood as the A10 and AAC.

2 to 4 bids annually.

If Murray State and Belmont are the 2 adds then congrats to the new commissioner for doing a hell of a job. The next step I'd like to see is creating another challenge similar to the MVC-Mountain West challenge we had in the past to help with scheduling. I think a challenge with the Atlantic-10, American, or the Mountain West again could really benefit all parties.

I’ve wanted this bad for many years. So proud of this league.

What about lumping 3-5 conferences together as a consortium and doing challenges among all of them? Like for example MVC-A10-MWC-WCC-AAC each team gets two home two away based on metrics to ensure quality matchups and hopefully increase odds of at large bids for all involved. I feel like we're in a position of strength now coming off multiple bids ourselves and adding two great programs especially with the hit the AAC just took and the fact that the MWC might be about to lose Colorado State and Boise State down the line.
