The next step I'd like to see is creating another challenge similar to the MVC-Mountain West challenge we had in the past to help with scheduling. I think a challenge with the Atlantic-10, American, or the Mountain West again could really benefit all parties.

What about lumping 3-5 conferences together as a consortium and doing challenges among all of them? Like for example MVC-A10-MWC-WCC-AAC each team gets two home two away based on metrics to ensure quality matchups and hopefully increase odds of at large bids for all involved. I feel like we're in a position of strength now coming off multiple bids ourselves and adding two great programs especially with the hit the AAC just took and the fact that the MWC might be about to lose Colorado State and Boise State down the line.

That just sounds like the bracketbuster with extra steps.

I think we've shown we can get home and home series scheduled with schools from these conferences, we just need all valley schools to commit to doing more of it.

Really love the idea of Murray State to the MVC. It just makes too much sense on so many levels. It's not often that these realignment changes actually strengthen mid-major conferences rather than weaken them, but that's exactly what this move does. Both Belmont and Murray State make the MVC better. And if the rumors are true that WIU may be going to the OVC then they would make a great replacement in the MVFC as well. Hope to see the official announcement soon.

I don't even mind it if they want to lay claim to MSU, either, as Missouri State needs to embrace the MO State moniker more anyhow.

I love this addition. It just makes sense. I look forward to the 12 team conference tournament where we’ll now have a full slate on Thursdays with the top 4 getting a bye to Friday. This could also solidify STL as the host site. Murray is only a little over 3 hours and Belmont is about 4.5, so the location seems to remain the most centralized.

Excellent job by new commissioner Jackson to move The Valley forward with something that a lot of fans have wanted for a long time.

Something that will challenge the league a little more with these additions is scheduling noncon games. Murray often plays 2+ MVC schools every year and Belmont seems to have one on the schedule. Muller mentioned in his presser with the add of Belmont, he won’t have to get on the phone and ask for a h/h every year now. It’ll be the same for Murray.

I think this could really revitalize Arch Madness and bring excitement back. Hopefully all restrictions and COVID will be behind us for Arch Madness 2023. That city will be buzzing that weekend!

The beauty of going to 12 is that we'll go to 20 league games (9 double plays, 2 single) and that's two less non-con games everybody has to find and can hopefully eliminate some SWACs, MEACs and non-DIs.

I think the coaches like their non-DI games as a way to game test new additions to their schemes at some point during the non-con or a feel good game after a draining non-con tournament.

I'll be shocked if we don't keep the full H-H round robin and go to 22 league games.

Pete Thamel is now reporting on twitter that Air Force and Colorado State will now NOT go to the AAC, and stay in the MWC. That shores up the MWC as still respectable, even if Boise State and/or Fresno were to leave.

The AAC is now once again hot garbage and in scramble mode.
