The AAC is now once again hot garbage and in scramble mode.

AAC is in deep do-do.

12 x 2 is 24. No was they do that

You don't play yourself

You're right on the math, but I'm not so sure the round robin stays. 22 conference games is still a whole, whole lot of conference games. I don't think any other conference plays more than 20 conference games in a season.

That's an easy fix. Two teams you only play once a year. One at home and one away. They change every year.

The Big Ten does and Southland did prior to losing teams last year. Instead now, the Southland has implemented an in-season conference tournament.

Once the ACC adds their new teams, they'll go to 22 or 24.

It's only a matter of time before all the BCS teams start playing 22 or more games. As leagues continue to get bigger, everyone will eventually be doing it.

Most of the relevant leagues are already playing 20.

The beauty of going to 12 is that we'll go to 20 league games (9 double plays, 2 single) and that's two less non-con games everybody has to find and can hopefully eliminate some SWACs, MEACs and non-DIs.

I'll be shocked if we don't keep the full H-H round robin and go to 22 league games.

Not sure that would be the best idea as far as metrics go. The conference goes .500 in those games as a whole. Still need to balance the non-conference ability to get wins and chances at picking up quality wins.

Only if some schools continue to schedule like garbage. You're actually improving your metrics when you add in the 4 games against Belmont and Murray (or at least you should be) when those are replacing games against Chicago State, SEMO, Maine and Cal Poly. If those are the games you choose to keep, then it's not the 22-game scheme that's the problem.

Credit to tribe on the Bradley board for crunching these numbers:

KenPom last 5 years

74 - Loyola
86.8 - Belmont
123.8 - Murray St
126.8 - Mo State
136 - UNI
151 - Bradley
151.6 - Drake
157.2 - Indiana State
160.2 - SIU
162.4 - ISU
162.6 - Valpo
202.6 - Evansville

Youre assuming they replace the Chicago States and D2's. But, I'm confident Muller will still schedule those two which means theyre replacing 2 decent mid-majors. its only an upgrade if you make it one. Our university won't. Theyll take it as less work to do.

You are right that some will continue down that path. But it's not the 22-game league schedule that's the problem.
