The only thing that is going to make Wichita State flinch is when the revenue will change from the AAC. I expect that to drastically take a dive next season. The Shocker's AD knew there would be risk in aligning with the AAC - they have come true. Overall the basketball additions are not favorable at all. There choices are now becoming less and less.

Missouri State would be foolish to join the CUSA. Despite the vision their administration has for football, that would not be the conference they should be looking at....

They may have spearheaded the move to get these other schools but that was simply so CUSA didn't end up on the same level.

They still have hopes of the Big XII. Would they leave one conference if they think they will join another in just a few years?

I guess it would depend on exit fees and what not. Instant gratification seems to be how these things work so I can't imagine they're too worried about eventually screwing over the Mountain West if it comes to that and I would think the Mountain West would take Memphis' basketball program regardless of how short term it may be.

MWC has already announced they are not expanding. Limited choices for Wichita State. They are dreaming on their fan message board they will be invited to the Big East. That will not happen. They don't fit the profile of the A-10 but I wonder if they would let them in? I would guess no. They are screwed.

So the AAC went after "Markets" with their adds. You could say its TV markets or markets for potential students, but they went market hunting with their adds. Does anyone think it was beneficial for the current members, except maybe the presidents/ADs?

Im grinding an axe a bit here, of course.

No of course not. They tightened their footprint a bit for divisional purposes and added a lot of potential especially in football but their basketball is going to be utterly terrible especially if Memphis and or SMU eventually leave. Basically they saw the CUSA experiment (which failed) and said "You know what? Let's follow the exact same strategy and it will somehow work out better for us than it did for them." Yeah I think not. Without Memphis, and especially without Memphis and SMU, I'm not sure how much better the AAC is than the MVC right now. If we're smart and go for performance and add Murray State we will only close that gap further. Just hurry up and resolve football and get in here already!
