The Ramblers tied for the league title with Drake at 12-6 in a season that included a 70-35 loss at MSU and a 67-48 loss at Evansville. Even when that team won they were MISERABLE to watch with no reliable shooters outside of a freshman in Cooper Kaifes and Lucas Williamson who missed half the season.

Unless I misread it, I think he was saying that last year's S16 team and this year's team are better than the F4 team. The 18-19 team was pretty rough, painful to watch on offense. I'd agree that last year's team was better but not so sure I'd agree on this year's team--Krut as a freshman is better than what Loyola has downlow this year.

Would probably rank them something like:
1. 20-21 Sweet 16 team
2. 17-18 Final Four team
3. 21-22 team [New coach, super seniors, high ceiling]
4. 19-20 team [Finished 1 game behind UNI at 13-5 in conference, was playing really well down the stretch only to get knocked off in the "Revenge of the PIGs" Arch Madness]
5. 18-19 team [Woof]

Yes, last year's Sweet 16 team was better than the Final Four team. Although you can say the Final Four team was better built to win in March around good guard play from Custer and Richardson. This year's team ranks higher in KenPom too but too soon to say they're better too.

Oh to clarify I was referring to 18-19 as the weakest year for the valley as a whole in recent memory - not just LU! Loyola and drake split the conference title at 12-6 - in which neither team was overly impressive! Def agree last years ramblers were stronger than the F4 year.

Last year's team was better than the Final Four team. The Final Four team was luckier - sometimes that is all it takes.

You're being a bit dramatic, Drake and Loyola both still have a shot at making it a two bid league.

I agree with your ranking, It seems strange to say that this years team is better than the same team plus Cameron Krutwig.

People seem to forget that it only takes 1 at-large team to be a multibid league. If Loyola keeps at their current pace, and gets upset at the Arch, its a 2 bid league. Easy as that.

Drake can handle that.

Bears playing mostly w/o a sickly Gaige Prim take down UALR in Little Rock 81-55. Bears hit 16/32 treys with Black hitting 7 treys and Minnett 4. For the year Minnett is just blistering it at the trey line with 27/52[ 52%] . Prim played just 9 minutes; Mosley apparently back in good graces had 21, Black 25, and Minnett 17. Freshman Isaac Haney continues to get additional time and had 10 pts and a pair of treys. Bears continue to play w/o starting pg Demarcus Sharp , as Patterson started at the point. The 16 treys was 1 short of the MSU record of 17 in a game.

I wondered what the deal was with Prim.
