I completely agree with everything except the current pace comment about Loyola. I think they have to be pretty special the rest of the way because I doubt they have a win over a team that will be in the NCAA Tournament at this point. DePaul will struggle to be better than 10th in the Big East, Vandy will struggle to be better than 12th in the SEC and Arizona State is a middling Pac-12 team that was very shorthanded at the time Loyola played them. Arizona State is capable of becoming a bubble team, but has some work to do to get there. Remember, the Final Four team at Loyola misses the field if they lose in Arch Madness. That team was 28-5 with a road win over a top 5 team.

Loyola is currently 18 in the NET. If the current pace keeps up and we lay an egg in Arch Madness, I think we will be ok. Depaul should be a quad 1 win. The difference between now and 2018 is that Loyola is a brand people want to see in the tournament. If the computer rank doesn't drop out of the top 30 and the arch madness loss isn't an embarrassment I think we're in. But what do I know?

The valley in general this non-conference has performed poorly, so to be comfortable Loyola is going to have to beat Norfolk State, Davidson, and only drop 2-3 valley games max. If Loyola beats Norfolk State and Davidson then there's a good chance they'll be in the AP 25. This year is not comparable to 2018 because Loyola started this season top 50 in most rankings, with a shitload of national recognition after beating Illinois last season.
