You are right there was no vote. There was not enough support to issue an invitation. Unless you are a Bradley fan I have no idea what your problem is with me.

If you are a Bradley fan then well good luck with the STD

The Eastern Schools might have to get on a plane an extra time and that's like trying to get a toddler to wear a coat over their Halloween costume. They also seem to have no clue how far away the Dakotas are, even from Cedar Falls.

I'll say it again. Jeff Jackson isn't the one that initiated the interest in Arlington. That was Elgin at the direction of the presidents. Matt Brown had all the emails from an FOIA request.

There's also been no MVFC vote on Murray. That's simply bullshit that one guy won't quit banging the drum on. No need to vote until the Valley makes a move or we know what's happening with the OVC/Southland partnership.

Formal vote, informal vote, who cares? Play all the words games you want, but the MVFC is NOT EXPANDING. Period. End of sentence.

You can dance around your claim of "bullshit" all you want and claim you are all knowing, but you are dead wrong. Not sure why you feel the need to attack Barkeep as that one guy. Attack me too if it makes you feel better.

It only takes three MVFC university presidents to kill it and there is not even majority support for it. There is nothing to solve here with divisions or whatever other scheme you have in your head. Murray to the MVFC is not happening without serious bribe money, so please try to stay on topic here.

UNI and MSU must continue to refuse to be in a division with the four Dakota schools. It’s not fair from a competitive or geographic standpoint.

You are absolutely correct. They are full partners in a one-sport conference. MVC membership in no way controls the MFVC. Jeff Jackson is not the commissioner. The league would really hurt itself flirting with any division schemes that included UNI and the Dakotas in one division and it would not be approved.

Actually, the person claiming they are all-knowing is you. You’re basically saying you’re more in the know than Matt Brown and 15-20 MVC/MVFC beat writers by claiming you’re right and everyone else is wrong. No one’s heard anything of this MVFC vote - not Matt Brown, not one beat writer.

All one has to do is click your profile and check your posting history. You’re a Saluki fan who loathes Murray St. A sizable portion of your posts on this site is just bagging on Murray. That is your agenda here.

Similarly, if one clicks on Barkeep’s profile on the Saluki board, you will find dozens of posts with the same thing. He can’t stand Murray St.

When we get something from a credible, unbiased source that the MVFC rejected Murray, then we’ll adjust accordingly. But smart people sure as heck aren’t taking the word of agenda-driven fans carrying their baggage and axes to grind here.

Wasn’t there a PxP guy in the Dakotas who said something about Murray?

Split the conference into 3 divisions with 4 teams each.
East: Indiana St., Murray St., S. Illinois, Youngstown St.
Central: Illinois St., Missouri St., N. Iowa, W. Illinois
West: All 4 Dakota Schools

Reduce the conference schedule from 8 games to 7 games, with a bye week given to each team during the final 3 weeks. During those final 3 weeks, each team will play 2 games (1 at home and 1 on the road) against the teams finishing in the same position from the other 2 divisions.

That would be more balanced for sure. The problem is those last two games. Season ticket holders and facility management nightmare to not know what dates you will be playing at home or on the road until a week before. I won't pee on your idea, because I kind of like it --- but it creates a new set of challenges.

I don't even know why the Valley lets that football conference use their name. It causes dilution and confusion. Is there any good reason for it to exist? I don't want it to exist. The Valley should be a basketball and non revenue sports conference. We should not let a n FCS football conference harm the Valley, which is exactly what this is doing if it keeps Murray out.

With Murray there would be six teams with scholarship FCS football. If you want a Valley Football conference, limit it to those teams.

I like MVFC football a lot, but it might be time for them to completely dissociate from the greater MVC league. Give it a new name and let them do whatever they want.

Haha... You said so much of the same thing above apparently at the same time I was typing it.

I understand the frustration from the non-football schools (and pretend football schools).

But the Valley is what it is because of the sum of all of it's parts, including several good basketball programs who also play scholarship football --- and football is important to those programs.

Imagine a situation where a conference wide decision would severely impact Drake's Law school, or would require the permanent cancellation of the Drake Relays. You wouldn't be okay with that, nor should you. It's part of your school's identity.

I don't think anyone is saying you need to drop football. I am suggesting that we football schools should separate from the Valley flagship and make our own league rules regarding football.
