I'm going to need some back story as to why there are two irrational SIU posters that are so hung up on Murray.

The only answer I ever got was that they compete for the same students. Seems like a convenient answer that justifies some other personal problem.

The poster who said he has no idea why Murray St. has been turned down.

#1 "reason"-- MARKET-- they have zero --- to me this reason is very faulty.

#2--- Other teams were better picks in the opinion of MVC higher ups; example-- Belmont brings an excellent BB team and also has -"MARKET". Of course they do not impact that market-- BUT that does not seem to matter.

#3-- a few schools do not want the travel expense (UNI?).

IMO NONE of these reasons should be enough to keep Murray State out. Sometimes university presidents are too smart for their own good.

UNI is absolutely fine with the travel cost assuming that there is some balance in the west. We spend as much as anybody in the league and we're tired of burning a bunch of that on jet fuel.

So, throw us, Drake and MoSt, a bone and give us a western team or as a league lets determine that every trip over 350 miles is a flight and pool for travel. The eastern teams have gotten travel advantages which equal budget advantages for way too long. With the Belmont/Loyola trade we lose a trip that was a bus when we played on the weekend for an always flight.

On the other thread football has been brought up as an argument. This could be another reason Murray is left out. You avoid the whole "football argument" by not adding the Racers. Avoid it at your own peril-- it still would be ridiculous. The answer to add UIC (market, northern school) and Murray (BB strength) seems easy to this outsider.

Not true. Indiana State is at 39.1% using the same US Dept of Education rankings.

Kicking a school out is a whole different question than inviting a new member.

As I recall, many, many, many posts ago, the person(s) said they had a bad experience with Murray State many years ago. I don't remember the details, but they have a personal vendetta against the school. So, yeah.
