It's been in StL for 30+ years and it'll be there for the next 30+.

The best part of this is that Thursday becomes a 4 game day. This rocks!

Absolutely. The Thursday attendance should be much improved. Having teams as high as the 5 seed play on Thursday will definitely make more people interested in day 1!

Assuming we go to 12 which is likely I would guess that the top 4 will receive first round byes as opposed to the top 6 of the previous 10 team format. Suddenly there's a bit less shame in being a "Thursday team" if you can do so while still finishing in the top 5 of the league). I love the idea of Thursday being an all day thing as the MVC Tournament is one of my favorite events in the college basketball calendar!

You can usually get a discount on the hotel. Just call and ask for the MVC fan block discount. If you want to stay at your team’s hotel, wait and monitor the Arch Madness website to see which hotel your team gets.

Having the men join the women in the Quad Cities might’ve made sense if the Valley added St Thomas Omaha or Milwaukee but with the southern additions and Murray bringing thousands of fans the tournament should be firmly entrenched in STL

That arena is nowhere near big enough and has very few amenities.

Arch Madness is a brand all in itself. Moving from St. Louis would hurt marketing and attendance and therefore $.

I think we have a strong enough women's league especially with Belmont coming in that if we decide to expand further and that expansion includes schools like SDSU and\or USD (and USD is unlikely given that SDSU has the far superior overall athletic profile) we could consider moving the women's tournament to St Louis as well. If we pulled in 1 or more strong perennial top 25 programs to add to the schools we already have I think there would simply be too many high profile matchups for the MVC to continue holding the tournament at a separate venue. As it stands right now we should probably keep things the way they are until we see how Belmont integrates into the league. If they're as good at women's basketball as I suspect they will be we might have to make that switch even independent of further expansion.

Bryan Mullins endorses the admission of Murray while hinting at UIC indirectly.

Was there another part of the clip that was left out because I didn't hear any indirect hints at UIC? I heard him say, "I don't care" and, "If it's another team that can help us...". Neither of those comments hinted at UIC.

By the way, I disagree with Mullins on the number of league games the conference should play. 22 is a nice number which allows for the double round robin. 9 non-con games should be more than enough to establish a good NET and also eliminate non-D1 teams from schedules.

Problem is that it won't eliminate the non-DIs.

We still have to play home games and adding a bunch of league games limits dates available to schedule non-con. Plus, playing non-DIs is better from a strategic standpoint than playing a bunch of SWAC/MEACs.

Plus, there are some real advantages in being able to game the league schedule so that your top teams don't have to play all the bottom teams twice

20 is the right number. 9 double plays, two singles.
