Lathan and Kelly could both legitmately find themselves playing in the NBA... and no one seems to find them to be anything but just a semi Solid valley player...

What has either done to receive such consideration?

He has talent to play at the next level (read as NBA) and needs a strong season to prove it. He is lightning quick and can finish strong through contact. He is a long, athletic point that will give most other guards in the valley troubles.

Having said this, I would love to build a team around Jake kelly, especially with multiple years of eligibility. Even with one year left, i think he will be the leader of a VERY strong team in the Sycamores of Indiana State.

You are the first person I have ever seen call Jake Kelly "lightning quick" and that he is an NBA type player. He is probably a solid type guy but let's not overdo it.

If i'm the first person you've heard say this, then you haven't heard many people talk about him. I've seen Jake play since he was in 8th grade. He played ball for several years around terre haute (Marshall, IL) and then transfered to MIC (same conference as the Terre Haute Schools North and South) member Carmel High. He is an amazingly talented individual and with a healthy year he will put a look of awe on the faces of many with his ball handling ability and sick crossover moves. Just wait....hopefully you'll get to see him in action this year.

I am on the edge of my seat.........Im not saying Kelly is a bad player. He's not. But he's not going to come in and dominate the MVC. We hear this all the time from fans who have a Big Ten transfer. Normally those guys come in and are just ok. That list is a lot longer than Big Ten/BCS transfers who come in and "awe" people with sick crossover moves, lightning quickness, etc. Especially those coming off major knee construction surgery.

Give some respect to the rest of the league. Its not a league of jokers waiting for a transfer from an awful Iowa team to come in and dominate them.

We are talking about the same guy who was averaged 9.0 ppg, 3.3 rpg, had 18 total assists and 24 total turnovers and shot 36% from the field in 12 games last year right?

It's not like he was a joker himself lol....most transfers in the MVC weren't superstars on their respective teams and unquestionably Kelly was a superstar...I respect the rest of the league but I also know Kelly's a superstar on any team....

I guess we disagree on what a "superstar" is. Again, this is the same guy who averaged 9.0 ppg, 3.3 rpg, shot 36% and turned it over more times than he had assists in 12 games last year? And we are adding having a total knee reconstruction on top of all this? That doesn't sound like the making of a "superstar" but what do I know.

Are you saying that no superstar has ever had knee surgery or a bad situation???? with marshall there the Sycs had too many guys who wanted to dominate the ball...with Kelly getting to dominate the Ball this year you will see a big difference...

Guys with "superstar" ability do more than Jake Kelly did on an average Indiana State team last year. Come on. "Superstars" take over games regardless of who wants to "dominate the ball". Obviously you know how I feel and you have stated how you feel.

Do any NON-Indiana State fans see Jake Kelly as a "superstar" or an NBA level guy? Would be nice to see other neutral observers view on this.

Bradley. Although I really like Cuonzo Martin so I would say Missouri State after that. That being said--who I am a fan of is irrelevant to this discussion.
