Fair or not I think of him as the Ndumakong Suh of the Valley.

His elbows were real high all day. He's a great player, he doesn't need to do that stuff...

More exciting to play in front of empty gyms in Philadelphia and NYC than Evansville and Terre Haute.

Imagine being on those teams and having to travel to cities like New York, Philadelphia and Washington instead of Cedar Falls, Peoria and Springfield and thinking its an upgrade.

All the dudes do on the road is go from the airport, to the hotel, to the gym, and back home. They aren't sightseeing during the league season.

Dana will reload through the transfer portal. I think a lot of the teams losing Seniors this year will be able to reload. It's why I'm not sold on a team like SIU suddenly rising to the top just because teams are losing a bunch of players. SIU is going to have to hit big in the portal too if they want to be a contender next year.

That's also assuming guys like Lance Jones and Marcus Domask stick around.

Road trips in the Valley and the A10 are both awesome and showcase everything that makes college basketball my favorite sport. But do yourself a favor and skip those Philly games. It's just not worth it.

Conference road trips for the team and travelling group are pretty sterile. Plane, bus, hotel, arena, bus plane.

It's not like they are going to spend time at the art museum or attend the opera.

For the fans (and parents) who travel, give me a $125/night hotel and a local sports bar with character over $699/night and oysters. Great cities can be awesome to explore, but on a college sports trip, I just want a clean room and fun atmosphere.

Right. Going for a one off college basketball game - Des Moines or Evansville is fine.

Going for a week long vacation - give me Philly.

Don’t disagree on the teams trips. But where do you expect to play in front of more local recruits? DC, NYC, Philly, or Evansville/Cedar Falls. Common practice to get tickets for local kids you want when you are visiting.

Not to discount the great basketball played in smaller metro areas in the Midwest, but they can’t stack up to the density of larger cities.

Some of us tried to make that argument when discussing Arlington or Kansas City... But we know how that went. This move makes sense for Loyola and they will be fine, and so will the MVC.
