Needless to say, we have a nice mountain to climb, just to be in the middle of the pack. In my opinion, the MVC will be tougher on paper than it is now. The Flames need to come in right away and be relevant. I believe we've got to be relevant quicker than Loyola's arc.

UIC's one win against Drake came when UIC was still D2. Beat a decent Drake team in Des Moines back in about 1978 or 1979.

UIC is going to struggle for awhile out of the gate. They need to recruit to a Missouri Valley level and they can't even recruit to a Horizon level. The addition is still worth it though to get the Chicago market, they'll just need as much time as Loyola got to build their program.

Nope. 12/28/78. Maybe UIC's record books only list the record against those opponents after UIC became Division 1.

You both are correct. UIC went DI in 1981. So, the first win was as a D2 program. The 2000 win was obviously as a DI.

While UIC isn’t the big dog that Belmont/Murray are right now, I welcome them to the conference with much more open arms than Valpo. Glad y’all can compete in your conference tourney this year. That whole saga was BS.
